We the People...

Went through my US citizen interview yesterday.

 

24 years after my arriving US in 1982.

 

I'm now at the end of this immigration route.  

 

Looking back, full of memories.

 

Things like,

 

My unable to board the airplane on my first attempt because of visa problem;  

 

The 26 English characters were all that I know about English when I arrived;   

 

The first turkey I've eaten (I arrived a day or two after the Thanksgiving);  

 

First X'mas celebrated;  

 

Friends, classmates and teachers in ESL class;  

 

I actually opened the wrong restroom door on the first day at school as I didn't know "Boys" and "Girls" painted on the doors.....  

(Why didn't they use pictures/icons instead...)

 

Rejected a Japanese girl's dance invitation in grad party at the end of 8th grade (me too shy...);  

 

"Turned bad" in high school years;  

 

Missed high school grad ceremony and yearbook pic because missed the registration deadlines;  

 

The years I spent in Texas;  

 

My first visit back to Taiwan after 19 years;  

 

Number of various types visa I've been held;  

 

The 9 years between my process for obtaining green card;  

 

Times I stood inline outside the Los Angeles INS building in EARLY morning, Winter too;  

 

The people I met in various periods;  

 

And many other stuffs...

 

Wondering... What would my life be if my parent didn't take me to US?  

 

Would I ever get to come to US then?  

 

Anyway, congratulations, I'll become an US citizen in a few months.  

 

And thanks, mom and dad, for taking me to the US so Em could come to this world~

一直很想好好的使用網誌及部落格，但總是撐不久... 或者是因為名字取的太明顯？還是因為跟帳號直接連結？反正，不是很喜歡讓人認出來是我寫的。

也好，這次開這個新的，基本上是英文公司的 (Google)，我認識的人應該沒多少在使用這個。祝我好運吧...

對這個新的開始，期許能夠讓我好好的跟大家分享生活心得點滴，也希望會遇到些新的朋友。

我從小 (13歲) 在美國長大，中英文都 2266，所以以後 po 的也會中英文夾雜...

最後，祈願所有苦難眾生，都能有足夠的慈悲、智慧、與勇氣，來面對及克服所遭遇的苦難...

OK~ Another 2 months flew away since my last post... Thank you for your patience (yea, right... like anyone is reading this...)

 

Anyway, it's end of June, and the conference is to set off in 3 weeks~ Good luck, dear YAD Tor~ I'll be joining you on 14th~ Treat me nice in those 10 days..... (hint hint hint~)

It's Tue... Been doing heavy office relocating since like... Fri? Pretty exhausted... But there are good things~

New phone lines activated w/o a hitch~  :D  But then... old phone lines are not deactivated as requested...  :(

About half of my stuffs are taken care of~  :D  But there are still half of them...  :(

Further... So much to do for the YAD conference... Sigh...

Hehe~ But then, this is what I chose, so yea, I'm happy with it~~~   ^O^

Messy..... Office is relocating..... pack pack pack... call ISP to relocate T1, call phone co. to relocate phone services, call HW vendor for rack equipment... call... call... call... Stressed too... all the things link one to the other. Missed one... don't even wanna imaging....
